49er Rocketry Team headed to NASA’s student launch competition
On April 13, the UNC Charlotte 49er Rocketry Team will compete in NASA’s Student Rocket Launch Competition in Huntsville, Alabama, near NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.
They have placed in the top two places for the past seven years.
Niner Engineer Gracie Judy, the 49er Rocketry Project Lead, explains, “NASA changes the payload each year. Our rocket must safely jettison something incorporating STEMNauts. We have decided to do little resin-printed astronauts. The goal is to see how much force the STEMNauts can take.”
