TiMOTION USA Creates Scholarship at UNC Charlotte’s Lee College of Engineering
TiMOTION’s North American subsidiary recently announced its partnership with UNC Charlotte to fund future engineers in their academic studies. The scholarship funding will benefit full-time students of high academic standing who are enrolled in engineering programs.
TiMOTION is an industry-leading provider of electric linear actuators worldwide, earning a reputation for reliable, high-quality, and competitively priced products that satisfy the needs of medical, furniture, ergonomic, and industrial markets globally. The company believes strongly in moving towards a better future, which includes investing in the engineers of tomorrow. Learn more about TiMOTION by visiting its website at www.timotion.com .
Jon Mueller, manager of the Business Development and Marketing Department commented, “TiMOTION started this fund with two primary goals in mind. First, this scholarship program will provide current students with financial assistance while they pursue higher education. Secondly, the program will assist with educating future engineers about electric linear actuators, as TiMOTION will provide products for classroom learning and projects.”
UNC Charlotte’s Center for Biomedical Engineering and Science (CBES) has researchers who will directly benefit from this collaboration with TiMOTION, and they look forward to working with some of the equipment that TiMOTION will provide to the university in the future.
In addition to collaborating with UNC Charlotte, TiMOTION also collaborated with four other universities in the Carolinas, including Clemson University, East Carolina University, NC State University and Western Carolina University.
The scholarship funding supports juniors and seniors. Dr. Ron Smelser, senior associate dean in the College of Engineering noted, “This aligns with the Exponential Campaign goals to reduce student debt through scholarships. We thank TiMOTION for helping upper-division students make it to graduation with less debt.”
In addition to these specialized scholarships, TiMOTION is also providing five additional third-party scholarships of $2,000 that are available for qualifying engineering students throughout the United States.
