II. Presentation by Dean Johnson.
Dean Johnson welcomed the faculty and staff to the 2000/2001 academic year, and gave a presentation outlining the College’s draft Strategic Plan for the next 5 to 7 years, as developed during the Spring 2000 semester.
III. Announcement by Dr H. Leamy.
Dr. Leamy stated that both the college and the University are at an inflection point in their history, that opportunities will come to make the College better and bigger, and that our focus should be to bring in R&D contract and grant money.
IV. Computer Facilities.
Dr. Chuck Price gave a presentation describing the progress achieved in upgrading the College’s computer facilities. Amongst several other improvements, we now have limited-access Sun Ultra 60 (500M RAM) and Sun Ultra 80 (2G RAM) servers, an Electronic Supplemental Instruction room, and a private room for faculty use, with CD writer, Zip drive, and color printer. We have a pool of 5 lap-top computers, and LCD projectors are also available.
