How did Charlotte Engineering alumnus Felix Vivongsy ’20 BSME land his dream job at Tesla? Persistence. Preparation. And one amazing design portfolio.

Felix said, “They say pictures are worth a thousand words, and for design engineers, that is definitely true! During my interview, I shared my portfolio from UNC Charlotte with them, and was able to SHOW them what I had done and learned, both as an engineer and as a person.”

When asked if he had any advice for engineering students now, he said, “It really is hard work, but try and keep your design portfolio and notebooks current. Those items are great tools to illustrate to potential employers the depth of your understanding of how and why things work the way they do, AND you can showcase the team-based projects we do at Charlotte, which are second to none.”
